About Us

Dr Katie Watson founded Dundee Candle Works during the pandemic, when making candles became a creative outlet. Today, we’re a small Dundee business creating home fragrances inspired by the city and places across Scotland.

Made in Dundee

We hand-pour our candles in small batches using a natural coconut wax blend. Our fragrances draw on Dundee’s marmalade heritage and Scottish places and traditions, from bright Marmalade & Lime to warm Marmalade Gingerbread. We also make reed diffusers in selected fragrances for those who prefer scent without a flame.

Every candle and diffuser is presented in a reusable natural jute bag. Jute is part of Dundee’s history, and the bag makes each one ready to give.

Why we give back

Through her work in medicine, Katie met people affected by domestic abuse. That experience led us to support Scottish Women’s Aid and its work with women and children across Scotland.

We donate £1 from every candle and reed diffuser sold, and £2 from every gift set. Since we began supporting the charity in 2024, your orders have helped us donate £6,800.
